The Butterfly Walk & Fun Festival and 5K cannot be a success without the help and support of all our volunteers.  Please consider donating your time and talents to help make the 6th annual event a success!!  If you are interested in helping out with any aspect of the Butterfly Walk, please provide the following information.  Please know that the information provided here will only go to the Event Coordinator for the Butterfly Walk and will not be shared with anyone else. Thank you for your interest in our event.

In order to make produce this event, we need over 150 volunteers the day of the event.  Below you will find all the areas that will need your support.  Please select the 5 stations you would be willing to volunteer for during this event.  Please put the numbers 1 to 5 in front of your choices in order o f preference.  We will do our best to place you in your top choices but cannot guarentee that.  There is a section at the bottom for additional comments where you can put any additional information that will be helpful to us in placing you in the right position.

Station

Time Frame & Description of What is Needed

Run/Walk Set Up

6am-11am - Set up run/walk route signs/cones, block road during race & remove all when race complete, 6 people needed

Adopt-A-Tree Set Up

6am-8am - Hang garlands on trees in the park, 10 people needed

General Set Up

6am-10am - provide help with setting up tables, chairs, booths, signs, decorations, etc., 20 people needed

Parking Lot Control

6am-11am - direct cars in the lot for vendors, handicap, runners, etc., 6 people needed

Vendor Check In

6am-11am - check in vendors and assist them as necessary, 6 people needed

Registration

6am-1pm - Sign in pre-registered runners, register walk ups & runner assistance, 8 people needed

Gift Bag Station

6am-1pm - Set up & hand out gift bags & kids passport prizes, 4people needed

Raffle Prizes

7am-1pm - Stationary & roaming ticket sales, assist with booth, 8 people needed

Games

7am-2pm - set up game/prizes, run the activity & hand out prizes, 16 people needed

T-Shirts

7:30am-11:30am - Work with registration desk to pass out T-shirts to walk ups & individual participants, 4 people needed

Junior Jog

9am-1pm - Sign up/check in joggers, administer jog, pass out awards, 10 people needed

Starting Line

7am-10am- Assist Runners to Line up properly, maintain safe environment, 10 people needed

Finish Line

7am-10am- Assist Running Time company as needed at finish line, 10 people needed

Water Station

7am-10am- Set up water station & provide water to runners, cheer them on, 6 people needed

Main Stage

6am-2pm -Assist DJ, help with ceremony, help with raffle drawing, 2 people needed

Maintenance

8am-2pm - Clear food/paper waste, empty trash cans, wipe off tables during the event, 6 people needed

Food & Beverage

6am-2pm - Cook hot dogs, put out snack food, condiments, plates/napkins, etc.;  keep drink bins full, assist people as needed;  run popcorn station, 16 people needed

Snyder House

6am-2pm -  Set up for sponsors/volunteers, maintain cleanliness, empty trash, keep occupancy at 60 max, 4 people needed

Clean Up

1pm-finish:  Stack tables, chairs, empty trash, take down signs, organize material to store, 20 people needed

Miscellaneous

6am-2pm:  Volunteers are needed that can be flexible and are will to be moved throughout the event to help where needed, 10 people needed

All people (vendors, volunteers & participants) who attend the 2012 Butterfly Walk for CancerFree KIDS must sign an event day waiver.  By submitting this form, you are understanding and agreeing to this event day waiver.  It is as follows:

I understand that participating in this event is potentially hazardous, and that I should not enter and participate unless I am medically able and properly trained. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry, I assume full and complete responsibility for any injury or accident which may occur while I am traveling to or from the event, during the event, or while I am on the premises of the event. I also am aware of and assume all risks associated with participating in this event, including but not limited to falls, contact with other participants, effect of weather, traffic, and conditions of the road. I, for myself and my heirs and executors, hereby waive, release and forever discharge the event organizers, sponsors, promoters and each of their agents, representatives, successors and assigns, and all other persons associated with this event (The 6th Annual Butterfly Walk & 5K for CancerFree KIDS), for my all liabilities, claims, actions, or damages that I may have against them arising out of or in any way connected with my participation in this event. I understand that this waiver includes any claims, whether caused by negligence, the action or inaction of any of the above parties, or otherwise.  In addition, I grant full permission to any and all of the above parties to use any photographs, videotapes, motion pictures, website images, recordings or any other record of this event.
